How to add your own components in PowerForge?

Abstract

In this tutorial, you will learn how to add your own components in PowerForge.
 
Power electronics design engineers may have to use their own semi-conductors (IGBT, MOSFET SiC…) when developing power converters. PowerForge allows designers to do just that by offering high flexibility to the engineers!
 
In this video, you will learn how to add your custom reference in our software and how to use it in the power converter solutions you are developing. Thanks to this functionality, you will be able to benchmark the performances of different power switch references compared to your own components.
 
You will be able to evaluate the impact of your custom references on your designs by comparing their mass, volume, cost, efficiency to other components.
 
Note: Once added in PowerForge, the reference will only be accessible to you and to the persons you have authorized (see the access right management feature).

Our Expert

Guillaume Fontes – CSO & Co-founder / Power Design Technologies

Guillaume has been an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic National Institute of Toulouse and at the LAPLACE lab since 2006. He studied the electrochemical storage of electric energy and now focuses on methods and tools for the design of power converters. He co-developed a power converter design software prototype in 2013, which is now owned by Power Design Technologies.

Guillaume received the M.Sc from INP-ENSEEIHT in 2001, graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan in 2003 and received his Ph.D. from the National Polytechnic of Toulouse in 2005.
